Summary

This project focused on understanding cellular ultrastructure changes related to ageing and Alzheimer's disease.

Project aims

By combining expansion microscopy with super-resolution techniques, this project aims to generate a unique imaging database that reveals intricate details of fixed brain tissue. The research will provide unparalleled insights into the structural changes that may occur over time, with functional consequences contributing to neurodegenerative conditions. Work relies on collaborations with pathology, optics and chemistry experts and utilises state-of-the-art imaging technologies.
