Summary

Vestibular schwannoma are one of the commonest brain tumours, typically presenting with unilateral sensorineural hearing loss. A large cohort of patients is screened and followed up for these tumours, using MRI.

Project aims

This project will explore the optimal clinical surveillance schedule, appropriate time for surgical intervention and post-operative follow up.

This will be combined with liquid biopsy sampling (in collaboration with Mr Richard Mair), to explore the genetic landscape of these tumours and relate this to clinical progression. This project would be well suited to surgical scientists with an interest in skull base surgery (ENT surgery or neurosurgery)”
